MODERN BALL glass lamps scoop the ‘must have 2021’ title!
The jury of the ' must have 2021' competition has appreciated our MODERN BALL collection! The distinctive duo of handmade glass and machine-processed aluminium brings together comfortable light with aesthetic form. The technology of the MODERN BALL collection was taken care of by the AQForm engineers, whereas its look – by the DECHEM design studio.
'must have' is a poll organized for 10 years now as part of the Łódź Design Festival. Its purpose is to honour the best Polish projects by Polish designers and manufacturers. A total of 658 products have been awarded since the poll was first launched. This year, the MODERN BALL collection has joined the distinguished group of the awarded products!
The MODERN BALL collection granted the 'must have' title
We invited the Czech design studio DECHEM to collaborate with us in our work on the MODERN BALL luminaire family. Here, we have managed to combine traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Right from the conceptual phase, it was important for us to combine the visual comfort of the users of the lighting – that is, all the people in the interior – with the aesthetics of the form of the product. The market needs lighting with a decorative function that brings together high efficiency and visual comfort. Such were our design guidelines.
It took more than 1.5 years from idea to implementation. It was a time of trials and tests. Ultimately, a family of lamps was created, one distinguished by high attention to the comfort of the interior users and a consistent look, regardless of the method of mounting the luminaire. The combination of the glass lampshade and the light source developed by us guarantees uniform illumination of the glass. As a result, a single BALL module emits nearly 1,000 lumens at a CRI>90, but it does so in such a subtle way that it does not tire the eyes and can be used both as general lighting and as side mood lighting.
MODERN BALL is lighting which is an interesting addition to the interior during the day, and illuminates it conveniently in the evening. The collection offers three types of luminaires: suspended, wall- and ceiling-mounted. MODERN BALL lamps meet a specific need, i.e. they provide lighting that combines a decorative function with maximum visual comfort.
This is not the first 'Must-Have' title awarded to our products. In 2017, this title was won by the MODERN GLASS collection of luminaires, which we also developed in cooperation with the DECHEM studio.
