Light that tells the story of a place

Hotel Mercure Białystok is a project where contemporary design meets references to local identity. The MIXD studio ensured that every interior detail contributes to a coherent narrative, with lighting not only emphasising the architecture but also becoming an integral part of the atmosphere.

A regional symbol framed in light

In the restaurant, guests are drawn to a spatial installation depicting a bison — a symbol of the Podlasie region. Its distinctive form is highlighted by the RAFTER system, which guides a line of light around the composition, giving it a strong, defined frame.

Flexible light in multiple expressions

This project also includes custom double versions of PET, serving as task lighting and easily adaptable to the changing needs of the space. In the restaurant room featuring the bison installation, PET spotlights on track systems accentuate interior details such as decorative wallpaper and design elements.

An atmosphere shaped by light

The combination of different lighting functions gives the hotel spaces both practicality and character. It’s a clear example of how well-chosen illumination can highlight local identity and bring a unique ambience to the interior.
