Award-winning, nature-inspired design

Award-winning RIBBY luminaire family (German Design Award 2026, Red Dot Design Award 2025, iF Design Award 2025) expands with new models that keep its most distinctive qualities: soft, nature-inspired form, refined detailing, functional light that helps shape atmosphere of interior. New versions, RIBBY round up&down, line points, wall up and wall up&task, show this recognisable design can now be used across even wider range of project scenarios, from intimate apartments and restaurants to hotels and representative shared spaces.

Small form, big impact

RIBBY round up&down is suspended luminaire combining signature profile of family with compact, round shade emitting light up and down. It brings decorative accent into interior, yet remains light and unobtrusive. This is not another typical luminaire above side table. Organic lines and subtle vintage note give RIBBY round its own distinctive character.

Form and size open wide range of applications. Luminaire feels right in small apartments, compact kitchens, cafés and restaurants with intimate tables. It doesn’t dominate space, doesn’t get in way of eye contact, and helps build welcoming atmosphere even at close distance. That’s why it works so well where light needs to be present, but not overpowering.

Design tip:

In spaces with many tables, use colour range of RIBBY family. Eight standard finishes, including unusual terracotta and taupe, plus brand-new sandy and burgundy, allow colour play that can add even more character to overall scheme.

One luminaire, three lighting scenes

RIBBY line points is new take on suspended linear luminaire, combining award-winning design with even greater functionality. Point light modules deliver strong downward task light, while uplight element provides comfortable ambient layer via ceiling reflection. This means one luminaire can look distinctive and respond to specific functional needs at same time.

Key advantage is system of two independent circuits. It lets you switch on downward emission, upward emission, or both together. In practice, this creates three usage scenarios, from focused task light above worktop or desk, through calm evening mood, to full lighting across zone. RIBBY line points is strong fit wherever space changes function during day.

Design tip:

Use RIBBY line in multi-purpose spaces. Two circuits make it easy to shift lighting use in seconds, in line with needs changing through day.

Wall luminaire that offers more

RIBBY family has also been extended with two new wall luminaires: up and up&task. Second variant in particular shows functional potential and opens completely new ways of use. RIBBY wall up&task combines uplight with adjustable PET micro spotlight, intended for precise light when reading or relaxing. One luminaire brings together two roles: ambient light and task light.

Solution works especially well in bedrooms, hotel rooms and relaxation zones, where one aesthetic luminaire can replace both bedside reading light and general lighting. Adjustable PET micro module lets you aim light exactly where it’s needed, while uplight builds soft, pleasant mood around. RIBBY wall up&task stays highly practical, yet clearly decorative.

Design tip:

With three RIBBY wall versions (up, up&down, up&task) and different sizes, larger apartments, bedrooms or relaxation zones can be built up with consistent light points offering different directions of emission. Variety of applications also makes wall luminaires useful as functional yet decorative element that ties multiple areas together with one design language, across larger facilities such as hotels.

New RIBBY luminaires show distinctive design can go hand in hand with strong application flexibility. Whether you need compact luminaire above table, linear task lighting, or multi-functional wall luminaire, RIBBY keeps decorative character and gives designers ever more possibilities.
